We made a mistake last year. In the opening statement we declared the range as the best, most all-encompassing range that we’d ever offered. Well 12 months ago we couldn’t possibly have foreseen the radical improvements that we’d be able to incorporate this year; the range has been tweaked, the technology is even better and we’ve added new fin configurations to most models.
Bruce McKee has been making and developing Quad surfboards for nearly 30 years. For around 25 of those years, the quad concept was effectively stonewalled by the thruster's dominance in the market. Call it narrow mindedness ,call it a commercial conspiracy, whatever the reasons for it's former censorship, Bruce has worked tirelessly on the concept that he knew could not only match but out-perform the thruster.
In the past few years the quad has become accepted as a valid fin system by all but the most die hard thruster fans. McKee is quick to point out that putting 4 fins on a board does not necessarily make a board that performs like an M4 Quattro. It's taken Bruce years of trial and error to get his quad fin placement to where it is. Just look at the footage of Tom Curren surfing big J-Bay on a McKee quad way back in 1992 and you get an idea for the depth of understanding that Bruce has developed over the last 25 years.
Tiki International has secured an exclusive limited number of McKee boards for the UK. A selected range of innovative shapes from 5'8 to 6'6, in sizes developed for the UK.
Hydroflex Technologies approach is entirely new, not derived from traditional technologies and its full potential just about to unfold.
Hydroflex Construction
3-dimensional glassing, bionic construction, inspired by plants Fiberglass is enrooted into the blank -> garanties long lasting pop and prevents de-lamination Just foam and fiber -> no wood/stringers inside (wood sucks water and will rot) -> easy to repair Reduced to the max/Less is more -> the more materials used the harder to control characteristics

The SLX technology we introduced last year with the Webber range has been really well received on a number of levels. The performance and responsiveness being the key attributes people have liked.
This year we continue the development of the range with the Mini Fish, an ultra modern performance fish which adds an exciting edge to this very popular range.
McTavish Surfboards, just mention the name and surfers worldwide light up with recognition of the McTavish aura; not just the highest quality surfboards, but guaranteed performance, innovative design, a history of the finest credentials, and most of all FUN!
For over 45 years the FUN factor has been the driving force behind the McTavish innovation. They don't wait for others to make a development, then copy. They conceive a better way to rip a wave, then set out to perfect it. Prototypes, test riders, and plenty of waves. When they have it mastered, they put it into production, to pass on the FUN to the rider!
From the McTavish base in Byron Bay Australia, they have constantly chased the best waves daily, to test, refine and develop better surfboards. They obviously LOVE their job! And the end products mean you'll love your McTavish surfboard for the FUN it delivers, for year after year.
We learned a lot from our first year with the McTavish range. For 2009 we have taken all the feedback and developed a new high performance model, F4, redesigned the popular Fireball, introduced 3 models in the SLX technology and added some new colours in the popular Carver and Eightball models as well.
Steve's range was a complete success for GSI in it's first year. In fact we couldn't keep the production up to the demand which was a bit frustrating for many of us. This year we have a bigger capacity and have culled a few non performing sizes to help maximize production. The addition of Steve's Magic Fish which is a modern take on a retro classic will surely turn some heads. It is a very interesting surfboard to say the least.
Steve Walden is recognized throughout the surfing industry as “The Father of the Modern Longboard. There is no doubt that his contributions to the evolution of the original modern longboard have been profound. An accomplished professional surfer, Walden grew up in the heart of the surfing revolution on the beaches of Southern California. He has been shaping personal boards for himself and friends for 40 years.
Steve's focus today is on design more than ever. His desire to see what the new frontier will hold for surfboard design over the next 10 years is a driving force. Steve still enjoys competitive surfing and in the past year has traveled more than ever before as his reputation and relationship with surfers around the world continues to grow.
Year after year the NSP range just gets better and better.
For the 2009 we have worked on reducing the overall weight of the boards and making them as attractive as possible with new designs - so you will see lots of new colours. We have also added two SUPS to the range.
The NSP range has never been more fun.
Designed Performance is the tagline for the new South Point boards. Each South Point board has been designed through collaboration between a world-class surfer and surfboard shaper. These rider/shaper teams have worked tirelessly in the development of the surfer's quiver of boards to create a specialised range that's duplicated with the South Point Epoxy Construction, SPEC+. The synergy of the masterfully designed board with the latest in epoxy technology creates performance, precisely Designed Performance.
For 2009 virtually every aspect of the South Point line has changed from previous models. This season you'll notice lighter weights, better edge and bottom contours and revised fin shapes and set ups...
Carl Schaper. For 2009 the ever-popular Schaper/Bonga range continues to raise the benchmark on high performance epoxy surfboard, by decreasing board weight and introducing a new 7'2" funboard. The Logreco range adds three retro modern, high performance, twin-finned fish with quad option.
The Surf Series Surfboards feature sturdy epoxy construction with top sheet technology. The Surf Series surfboard shapes are very versatile and will suit the surfer who wants to gain some experience on a very practical surfboard. These surfboards are probably the best value for money on the market today.
